災害の種類 (Types of Disasters)
地震 (jishin): Earthquake
大雨洪水 (ōame kōzui): Heavy rain and floods
土砂崩れ (dosha kuzure): Landslide
火山噴火 (kazan funka): Volcanic eruption
緊急警報(kinkyu-jisin-sokuhou)
Emergency alert
緊急地震速報(kinkyu-jisin-sokuhou)

The Japanese government sends alerts to your smartphone when an earthquake happens🚨🚨
避難(hinan)
evacuation
避難所(hinan-jo) evacuation center/ shelters
避難所 evacuation center are usually designated at schools or parks.
逃げて(nigete)
run away
If you hear these words, calmly leave the area without panicking.
おかしもち
In Japan, there's a simple phrase to remember the basic actions to take during a disaster: おかしもち (o-ka-shi-mo-chi). Each part of this phrase stands for an important step:
お (おさない Osanai): Don’t push
か (かけない Kakenai): Don’t run
し (しゃべらない Shaberanai): Don’t talk
も (もどらない Modoranai): Don’t go back
ち (ちかよらない Chikazukanai): Don’t approach
